MEET VICKIE KENNEDY
Vickie G Kennedy (Bryant) was born in Milwaukee, WI to George and Freddie Bryant. She has five siblings; three brothers and two sisters. After High School, Vickie entered the military (Army) in 1986. Her Military Occupancy Specialty (MOS) was 31F; Mobile Subscriber Supervisor. Vickie rose through the ranks to Staff Sargant (SSG / E6) very quickly in her Military Career.
While in the military Vickie served at the following locations: Basic Training: Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Advanced Individual Training (AIT): Fort Gordon, Georgia, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Training (BNOC), Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Training (ANOC); Fort Gordon, GA; permanent Duty Stations: Fort Hood, TX. (3 tours), Germany (3 tours), and a tour in the Gulf War (Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and the Liberation of Kuwait). Her military accomplishments and awards include the following: Army Lapel Button, Army commendation Medal (3rd Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Star (BSS), Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Kuwait Liberation Medal.
After she was Medically Discharged from the Army with 12 years of Service, Vickie settled in Plano, Tx where she worked in Corporate at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) until 2004. She then pursued a career in Education as a Para-Educator at A+ Academy Charter School (Dallas, TX), Residence Life Coordinator at Paul Quinn College (Dallas, TX), then Dean of Students, Residence Life Director, and Career Service Coordinator with Texas College (Tyler, TX). In 2014 Vickie returned home to Milwaukee, WI where she currently resides. She has been employed with the Social Security Administration from 2014 – present.
Vickie started Total Restoration Mind, Body, Soul, Spirit, Inc. (TRMBSS) in 2016 and became Incorporated and 501 (c) (3) status in 4/2018. The idea to start TRMBSS came to Vickie after becoming homeless herself with her then teenaged son. She went to her local VA while still living in TX and being out of work for almost 2 years and losing her home; she was unable to receive the help she needed to find shelter. Because of the benevolence, compassion, and love of her prayer partner, Vickie and her son were given a place to stay.
With the help of friends and family we now have Total Restoration Mind, Body, Soul, Spirit, Inc.
